I own a 91 MIata NA and faced this problem for a couple years. I live in Virginia which requires yearly safety inspections and it would fail without a functioning airbag control module. After spending lots by ordering replacement modules from eBay which when I receive them they would have the same problem as the one I have, I almost gave up. But I found out about a company called Airbag Control Systems in Texas, that takes your non-functioning module and repairs them and sends them back within a couple weeks. They did mine last April and it is still working now. I think they charged around $120. The business is Airbag Systems, Inc., 409 South Central Expy. #107-332, Anna, Texas. 75409. You can reach them at support@airbagsystems.com. good luck!
