All,

I've been thinking about under bonnet heat management and turbine efficienc=
y and while browsing the web for such things came across this ow=
endevelopments.co.uk/products/product-detail.asp?prodId=3D22&imgId=3Da=20

Does anyone have any experience of this kind of product? Worth purchasing?

Hi Steve,

In my view the part will not offer any measurable performance increase and
will lead to greater chance of cracking the exhaust housing. I see no
benefit other than better protection of the brake vac, which can be handled
very well with shielding.

Good Luck with ordering it... I tried to get questions answered and the site
owners never responded, although that was perhaps a year ago. Personally,
it LOOKS as though it would protect everything near the turbo from the heat,
except perhaps for the turbo itself.

Hi Corky,

Not a resounding thumbs up then...

On my RHD car the turbine outlet down-pipe casting is right up against the =
brake lines there - that represents more of a threat than the turbine housi=
ng itself. I may email them to see if they have any evidence to back up the=
ir claims for the product but for now, unless someone chimes in says they h=
ave had good success with the product, I'll probably give it a miss. At nea=
rly =A3100 (once VAT is added) it is also not cheap.

How close is "right up"? I've been amazed at the difference with a sheild.=
And even wrapping my lines with aluminum helped quite a bit.

I can not measure it exactly as the turbo is off the car at the moment, but=
I would say within 1cm.
