Hi everyone. With my reprogramed J&S and a .7mm water jet, I've been able
to do 10deg base timing with the J&S removing 6 deg of programed retard.
Maybe a couple of leds at high rpm, but not much, and no audible knock.
Sensitivity is full min. Retard seperate. Car feels good under boost, but
I just don't like the way the car feels at 10deg base off boost. Feels
sluggish to me. So, I advance my base timing to 14 deg and do a programmed
retard of 10 deg (both switches up). Off boost feels alot smoother and low
end boost feels great, but J&S lights up above 5800, pulling 4-6 deg and
audible knock. WTF? I adjusted the sensitivity a bit and selected retard
all. No more audible knock, but you can definately feel the holding back
above 5800 rpm. What's different about the top end? Should be nothing.
A/F is Rich @ .89-.91v. Base F/P at 62psi. My engine is a knock prone one,
but the top-end retard shouldn't have changed. Maybe the 10deg programed
retard isn't really working? How can I check? Not as easy anymore as
hooking up a timing light and applying pressure to the MSD.

Thanks
