Our neighborhood rugrats like to put ramps in the street, too. And they
like to ride their bikes through my flowerbed (little do they know it is not
dirt they're playing in, but compost). Even after I put up a little metal
fence. Last week, I installed a hedge of small plants. That have thorns.
Heh heh heh....

In my case the guy that was giving me a hard time tried to justify his
position by quoting the store of the kid that had been killed nearby by a
hit and run driver.
Yes the driver was at fault for doing a hit and run. But guess what. The
kid, about 5, was driving a Big Wheel Trike through a subdivision that had a
busy through street in it. Where was the kid you ask?? On the sidewalk???
NOOOO He was driving the thing down the street like he was a car. A first
time occurrence??? NOOOO, neighbors say he did it all the time. Who's
really at fault here?? The driver or the parents.
I was disappointed that the parents were never charged with child
endangerment. You should have seen them on the local news night after night
carrying on about the bad driver, the speeding in their neighborhood etc
etc. I guess the best defense was a good offense, kept them out of jail.

You may be on to something, but you're not the first
to come to that conclusion.

Truth be told, Kent,
I think there is a difference between the pre 2000 kids and the post
2000 kids (ie due to graduate from high school).
Maybe I just don't have the great hindsight of more years to tell me
this yet. It's just something I've noticed. Another example is that
for some reason, the kids seem to be getting bigger at a younger age. I
mean, when I ran cross country, the average kid was 5'6"-5'8" maybe 150
wet. I was 6'0" and 155-165 dry. But now these kids just look bigger
and faster than I ever was.
Eh. I'm still smarter than they are any day of the week.

Wow! And you're only 22? Wait until you get old and grey.

Kent, er.... not 22
