My dad passed away and he had a 2006 Miata in his garage. It was clearly something important to him, and I would like to get this in the hands of someone who really appreciates it (hence the post here). The interior is in great condition and the mechanics are solid, but this will take some work to be a show piece. I am in Sarasota Florida.
It has new tires, a new battery, A/C works well, drives well, etc.
Known Issues:
* The canvas top is stained looking perpetually wet in a few places. I have been told this was likely due to attempts made to fix a leak. (Prices seem to range from $600 to $1200 for canvas replacements or as cheap as possibly $300 for vinyl.)
* I have generally kept this vehicle covered, but the few Florida thunderstorms I missed because it was just recently driven, it appears there is still a leak. I assume it’s the same spots
* There is a couple of minor scuffs that would likely buff out, and one pretty bad scratch over the driver wheel well (see pictures). I was quoted $1,500 to fix this by a local body shop for “off season prices”
* Their antenna is damaged and needs to be replaced.
* The springs in the visors have worn out and they don’t stay up.
* The insulation on the hood of the car has been chewed up a bit by mice..
I am happy to take additional photos, do a walk around or whatever. I do not know cars well, but happy to try and answer any questions.
My Google Voice Number is: +17273792979
I can receive calls or texts on it. Happy to give my direct number once we talk, but I keep that away from the internet bots.
