I have been a DIY person all my life and continues today. I started my career as a mechanical drafter 1964 in commercial lighting. From there was new product design and fabrication work in semi tractors and railroad, mining, farm equipment, conveyers, tool design, to climbing equipment. I retired at 70 years old as engineering director at a small manufacture co in 2014. I enjoy doing project that have to do with cars, air planes and trains both full size and scale models. My first look at a Cyclekart was about 5 years ago. I had an opportunity to visit Dennis Thomas several weeks back and I am hooked for sure. I started working on a sketch of a dirt circle track roadster I built in the 90’s. It is my takeoff of pictures I had seen in some old magazines a friend had he has collection. But of course current projects must be completed first. Looking forward to conversing with everyone soon.

The Name Notso-Chinsee

Posted on: Tuesday September 26, 2017

IMG 0977

The story behind the name came from a 40 RC glider my son and I built in the 90s. It started life as a pink foam wing covered with packing tape and an arrow shaft fuselage the gear was mounted on. I think we had maybe $5.00 in material we called it the “Chinsee”. We built 2 or 3 and like all things we had to make it better so cost went up because we bagged the wing with epoxy, fiberglass skin and a carbon fiber spar hence we have the Notso-Chinsee.
