Need to be able to tow a very light trailer (300 lbs maybe) behind my MX-5.

Dozens of ads for hitches until you get to the last 'hitch'. " Hasn't been proven to fit your vehicle"

Great custom fit! But I know some of you tow your spares and tires to the track.

Where did you get the hardware for the hitch?

I have a '16 ND ST. I went with the Hard Dog hidden hitch. It is very well built and uses the bumper frame pieces to securely attach. The rear bumper has to be removed to attach it but it comes with instructions. I use it for a hitch hauler and a bicycle rack. Believe Moss Miata carries them.
