Greetings! Forgive me for putting words into the mouth of Corky and Bill but
since I started this string I should at least attempt to answer it.
I posted this a few days ago but used the terms "aftermarket" and "stock" ECU.
a)The .1 is included with the System IV 1.6 liter with stock ECU.
b)The .2 is included with the System IV 1.8 liter with stock ECU or the
1.6 liter with FM computer.
c) The .3 is included with the 1.8 liter with FM computer.
d) The .4 is intended for the terminally insane and/or undermedicated and
*will* require an aftermarket ECU.
I looked at using the .3 on my 1.6 liter with TEC-II but Corky recommended
against it (Bill also) because of slow boost rise and spoolup time. The 1.6
liter just doesn't have enough displacement to provide good low-end response
with the larger turbine.
Horsepower can be approximated by figuring on 1.5 cubic feet of air flow
per horsepower. Air flow will depend upon boost and the boost range will
depend upon the efficiency of the turbo. Boost can range from, for example,
6 psi to 18 psi and stay within a preferred efficiency range (call it >60%).
Within that efficiency range there will be a mass flow that the turbo can provide. The horsepower will depend upon how much air mass the turbo can
flow (assuming fuel and spark control is available).
Stay tuned!
Barry
BEGI System IV.2 with TEC-II. It's nice that I can now wind 3rd gear out to
80 mph without hitting a rev limiter! What a neat sound!

Corky, Bill -
What is the relation between these combo's and the FM II/BEGI IV systems
and what configurations give you the ranges for brake horsepower?
