Power List Members:

Greetings from Bangkok, Thailand.
I have been subscribing to the Power List for some times now to get a =
better idea about improving performance of my 92 MX-5 with 6 psi SSC and =
finally order FM/LINK ECU together with 440 cc injectors, knock sensor =
and 4-wire O2 sensor from Dealer Alternative thru a friend of mine in =
the US. The s/w of the ECU is MAZ16XJ 18AUG99. I've got the whole thing =
in mid Oct, put them in in Nov and after initial setting per FM Owner's =
pages been runninjg pretty much on default setting. The car is running =
very good especially from 2500 rpm up-much better than the factory ECU =
especially in term of throttle response. However there are a few things =
that need improvement so I have to ask the list members for advice on =
how to go about it.

Her we go:

1. What are "IGNITION TRIM" and "HOT IDLE RESTART" in the main menu?

2. When in OXY IDLE window I can see that the O2 value drop to zero and =
then start to come back up again. Is this normal? Also during over run =
the O2 value goes to zero again,is this normal?

3.My current setting is Master Fuel 28, Clamp 38, IAC 29 =3D MAP 33 =
ZFuel100,105,110.200,205,210 =3D 34. Idle is very rich O2 approx 86 but =
idle quite smoothly. What is the Zfuel % that you guys are running to =
get a good idle mixture ( nothing to do with emission requirements)?

4. The engine RPM seems to "float" noticeably under 2500 RPM during gear =
change, that is pressing the clutch pedal and the RPM does not drop =
(some time it actually goes up!) How to smooth this out?

5. During cold start up (ambient temp 75-80 deg F-this is our winter!) =
RPM bounces up and down between 1200-2000 then settle down to 1000 =
(idle is set at 950) What is the cause and how should I smooth it out?

6. How do you auto tune zone 3 since at boost it goes right thru to zone =
4. I can't figure out how to make it stay in zone 3.

7. Since I'm only running in zone 4 max, do I have to worry about the =
fuel and ignition values in zone 5 & 6?

I apologize if this is a very long list of questions but I feel that the =
resources available from this list members will be able to help me out.

As an addition to discussion earlier about putting RX-7 FC3S in the =
MX-5, I have them on mine front and rear. The brake performance is =
terrific, however the effort may not be worth it!

TIA
Suwedh Sundarakul
