I think going between 9.0 and 9.4 is splitting hairs. If you can get the
automatic pistons then stick with 9.1.
Theoretically an increase of 1 point of compression ratio is an 11% increase
in power, IIRC. So going from 9.0 to 9.2 is 2%. Forget the c/r and
concentrate on tuning. If you're going turbo, correct tuning, and a large
exhaust, can give you as much as 20% for the same boost pressure.

Also it's not a good idea to lower compression with a thicker head gasket
because you're increasing the "squish" gap.

P.S. To the guy asking about the 1.6 head on a 1.8 block, you can ask Jared
about his adventure fitting a 1.6 exhaust manifold on a 1.8 head.. :-D

Power is not the only issue. Assuming correct tuning and a big exhaust
already, reducing CR will stave off detonation...possibly allowing more
timing for the bottom end and also giving those of us with stock injectors
some help.
