also, bear in mind that the 2" rule is only one
element of the rules which are fairly lengthy. there
are many other rules including being below a
plane/line drawn from the top of the front shock tower
to the top of the rollbar. i find that one is tougher
than the 2" rule since the shock towers are pretty low
on the miata. given that a rollbar is a pretty
involved install, be sure you will meet the letter of
the rules first or you may be doing it twice.

How short is your rollbar? I'm 6'4", and with the seat
modifications I
did,
my helmet's 2" below.
