Need a partner. It would make sense that it would be easier for 2 to
rob a bank than just one.

That's funny in that I was just talking to my bank about them being
robbed and protection factors. Most banks have minimal security
procedures nowadays because they don't expect to be robbed. It is a
very low reward/risk ratio. You can't get millions of dollars and very
few get away.

They simply keep minimal $$ available and have shutters that
automatically lower over the windows and an electronic lock that locks
the door so that the Bank robber has to break the glass to get out.
You'll probably never see a security guard at a bank anymore.

They said much more money was stolen electronically than ever was
stolen physically.

Stolen electronically, and stolen by cops with laser guns. Not that I'm
bitter or nothing. :-)

Hmmm, you know, I think my miata would be a good getaway car...

See, with all the brain power on this list we could fund all of our car
projects for some time to come.

Just saw some guy try to outrun cops in a white stolen Miata on Scariest
Police Videos (love that show!) a few nights ago.. oversteered on 2 or 3
turns, hit a pickup, then reversed into another car, then forward into one
of the patrol cars, then back into the car again, then into one of the cops
on foot at which point the other one shot the driver almost point blank
twice, presumedly in the face but regardless I'm sure he died as they
didn't mention he survived it.

I say go for it, I am sure you'll fare better than he did.

...And I thought I was bitter. I'm not really big on running from cops as
it's a safety concern.

Sounds to me like the guy should have stolen a high HP FWD car.

Hmmmm ... I just saw that bank bit in a movie last week (Inside Man?). The
light was disguised as a hand-carried sports lantern IIRC. The main problem
I see using it to combat laser guns is that you'd need a pretty wide beam
and that makes it a lot more difficult to get the necessary intensity level.

Oh, no, I was thinking for cameras. There ARE laser jamming systems, I've
heard they are terribly illegal. A detector is useless, whatever it is
needs to be functioning in less than a second. Much less. And then you
need to have a disable, so they can't detect it. Then you need to hide it
cosmetically so they can't see it. Then it helps not to be driving an
illegally modified car. And of course, even the jammers only work from a
distance, up close there is too much reflected light from the true signal to
overpower with the jammer (this confuses me, though, since you're also
further away so your jamming should be weaker at a distance).

It's something I've thought about - they are quite expensive. It'd even be
fun to build one in, hide the detectors and the emitters in various places
on the body.

And I'd already be up 360, plus the cost of traffic school, plus my
insurance rates if they don't let me take traffic school. Even for a $1000
system I'd be close to having it...
-Abe.
P.S. Inside man? Is that new? Any good?
