Hi folks
I've installed Powerflex poly bushes into my car - they're the purple
ones. Car is *great* - very smooth, very progressive, very damped. Like
new, or maybe better. The job wasn't mechanically difficult, but did
need some gorilla arms.
Now, I'm getting a small clunk from the front when going over speed
bumps and the like - not upon hitting the bump, but more one coming off
the bump and onto the road again. Should I be worried ? Or is this a
"feature" of poly bushes (just like "squish" is a feature of KYB AGX's)
?=20
Most of the other clunks and bumps have gone away, as has the 65mph
shimmy I was experiencing. Car feels otherwise fantastic, has had a full
alignment after the bushes were installed. I'm running KYB AGX's with
standard OEM springs ('96 year). Have had the AGX's from 2 to 6 and
they're great.

Maybe check the alignment eccentrics? Sometimes the alignment guy won't get
one tight enough.

Hi Frank,
When I first bought my car I had a clunk that would only happen on the left
front and only when coming off a sharp drop, like the edge of a manhole
cover. It turned out to be a shock that was bad. It was a stock Showa with
only 13,000 miles. New shock, fixed.
I've heard some AGX can't pinch the top spring mount with the shaft nut. The
fix is to put a washer around the shaft and under the nut to take up the
space so the spring mount is pinched. This sure would make the sound you
hear.
