hey everybody, i'm getting my used mk1 link tommorrow. i will remove the
afpr and msd that came with my system 4.1 but is it necessary to remove the
pierberg pump? my car's a 1.6 with stock injectors. and i'm only running
6.5-7 psi boost with plans on going to 8 psi later this summer (when i get
an intercooler in there of course).

i'm being lazy i know, but i also figure that it probably doesn't hurt to
have the extra fuel pressure capability. will the link (mk1) "sense" this
extra fuel pressure? probably not is my guess. so does that mean i have to
make some sort of adjustment to the settings? master fuel comes to mind
(bear with me, i'm just getting into link-ese :-).

thanks,
Ken

The Pierburg causes no ill effects at idle on my 1.8 and it
substantially reduces the drop in fuel pressure at redline with 15 psi
boost. You won't need it at 8 psi but it won't hurt anything assuming
that your OEM fuel pressure regulator is the same as my 1.8 OEM
regulator.

ok, so do you have to make some adjustments to the link or does it =
autotune itself for this....
