The casting of the factory pump is cleaner, npw has more casting flash.

The factory pump has a closed back stamped impeller, with 6 straight
short "blades". The NPW has a closed back cast pump also with 6, but
longer, blades, curved, and their angle of attack is shallower. The
tips of each "blade" curves outward at a steeper angle of attack.

The clearance of the factory pump's blades is 1.5 mm, for the NPW is 1.0 mm.

I would imagine that the NPW would be more efficient, and the shallower
angle of attack means it may have less cavitation at high RPMs.

Cheers.

Good eye on the clearance. Is the overall impeller height the same? Hard
to tell from the pictures...

Thanks,
Robert
