i couldnt help but look closer this morning. the oil pan seems to be
relatively dry and i see a threaded hole with oil seeping out. it is on the read
of the left block as close to the end plate as possible and still being on
the block. the hole faces the left and is above the dipstick. i do not have
any extra parts which would unless it should be a bolt, (i have some old
bolts i replaced and a couple wire brackets but i will find someones car to see
how they go in). it sorta looks like an oil sender type of port....i also
think i see it in the manual diagrams but i dont see any thing being associated
with it...

ideas?

That should by oil line tap area, not tape area....
