Where do you'll buy OEM kinds of stuff for your Miatae that FM does not
carry? Do you go to the local Mazda dealer? My dealer never has anything, so I
always buy stuff on-line.

I just bought both radiator hoses and both heater hoses from Trussville for
$68. It seemed high to me, but I was not sure what other alternatives are out
there.

Any better ideas?

Thanks,
Jim in Tucson

Try Ray Crowe @ Malloy Mazda in VA. 1(888)533-3400. All the RX-7 guys swear=
by him. Great prices, service, and (usually, but not always) free shipping.

Jim,

If I'm remembering it correctly, I paid around $23 each for the radiator ho=
ses at a dealer in Leominster, MA, so $68 for all 4 sounds about right.

Good lord. Glad I don't have to change any rad hoses anytime soon!!
There has to be some kind of aftermarket alternative. $23 for a hose
that's what, 6" long?

FM sells the three large bore rad hoses for between $13 and $17 each IIRC. Changed mine last weekend, the FM hoses have a thicker wall than the OEMs. You also trim the FM hoses to fit ...

I'm too scared to try the heater hoses.

Another vote for Tommy Grimes at Rosenthal (Finish Line)
finishlineperformance.com/

I've been buying parts from him for years and years. He knows Miata parts
forward and backward, you can say: "Tommy, I need all the water hoses and
belts for a 1.8 Miata." or "I need all the replaceables for a timing belt
change" and you get them. You don't always have to know all the parts,
just what you are doing.

He is a Miata specialist, I used to call him on RX-7 stuff and he'd have to
look up the part numbers. Miata ones he knows in his head.

Years ago I was following him through the Chute at about 80 mph at Summit
Point race track and he hit his brakes right in the middle of the thing.
Very bad.
Miata driver he isn't. (At least not back then.) I thought I was going to
die. But he is the "Parts Dood" for Miatas.

The top hose is fairly short, but the bottom hose is about 2-3 feet
long and quite a complicated shape.

FM was my first choice as always. However, no M2 hoses.

Well, no - it's more like a foot, which of course makes it a bargain. Serio=
usly, I'd rather pay top dollar for a custom molded hose than spend half as=
much for those cheap pieces of crap you find in most auto stores. The van =
gets the cheap stuff - Wheezy always gets the good stuff.
