Even heated sensors don't stay quite warm enough at idle when they're
farther downstream.

Subject: O2 sensor placement

Is there any reason short of warm up time to not place the o2 sensor farther
downstream than the standard location of right after the turbo outlet on
most turbo kits?

My reasoning is that on boosted runs the O2 is never repeatable, and it
seems the more full throttle runs, the farther from the first readings the
o2 dataloges stray. I'm assuming this to be the effects of heat on the o2
sensor. Moving the o2 farther downstream would give the exhuast gas more
time to cool off.

I cant think of any negatives to this, short of it taking slightly longer
for the 4 wire to heat up to operating temps. Are there any other draw
backs?

-Bryan
PS: yes I know this isnt a solution to having a real wideband reading, but
it seems like it would be more optimal than the other location...
