I did find a good site with pricing and such. But I was wondering if
anyone has had 'movie' type experiences with it like in "The Abyss" where
the guy shoves hit hand in the blukhead door b/c the room is flooding and
his ring somehow miraculously stops the door after crushing everything else
in its path.

...movie magic I guess...heh.

Thanks for everyone's informative comments.

Take off the ring to protect yourself and the ring. A friend's dad
lost his finger because he wanted to wear it all the time. He
couldn't wear it ever again! I applaud your wish to wear it, but
just wear it whenever possible.

As for tungsten rings, I've seen a titanium ring and it seemed very
durable. A quick Google of "tungsten" and "wedding band" turns up a
bunch of hits. Same with "titanium." Probably cheaper online too.

This happened to a friend of mine. But not as severe. But I
wear gloves.

Regardless, I think i'm gonna take it off...and keep my
fingers.

Never. I knew a guy that lost a finger when the ring and
wrench combination
got between a battery cable and ground. The ring melted almost
immediately.
