Who knows, probably shopped, although there are some people out there with
too much time.

probably the best fuel gauge ever invented- half a tank is downright
frightening!

I'd hate to park it on an asphalt parking lot in the desert....

(this thread has a lot of mileage left in it guys)

Mail From: "Lloyd" <(email redacted)>

Miata gawds,

Has anyone wired in a relay to help power the a/c fan?

I just received one of 2/3rds Cobras (from the Miata Forum) high flow fan
setup. It's a really nice unit, with two 1300cfm Spal fans mounted to a
shroud.

The stock fans on my 1991 are wired to power up together in parallel. The
a/c fan is powered on by a wire jumped off of the main fan.

I'm worried that the new fans will kill the stock wiring or relay, so I'm
going to wire in a relay to compensate for the additional draw.

My plan is to use the jumper wire that I'm already using for the switched
power connection. But what I don't know is if this is a positive or negative
signal? Has anyone installed a relay in the fashion?

One other quick question, I'm using the blue power connector in the engine
bay to power a 4 wire O2 sensor. Would it also support the a/c fan relay? I
was thinking about making a Y connection and splitting the signal to power
both items. Or should I just run a new wire from the battery for the relay?

Thanks for the help,
Lloyd
