Folks,
There has got to be a way to use the new chip without the temp comp board.
I tried, and just adding a 680 Ohm resistor does not work. I'm running NA
and don't need the temp comp.
Ideas?
Vic

I would suggest upgrading to the chip for one of the new ones, anyway.
The changes that have been made in the past year are huge.
I won't go into all the changes, but I'm actually driving my car at the
moment (boost control non-op, but that should be fixed soon...) and I
have been astounded by the mileage I'm seeing.
I put 400 miles on the car in two legs on Saturday. The first was mostly
highway at 70-75mph, some 2 lane and several triple digit passes on
those stretches; I'm running at 13 psi, btw. That leg I got over 27
miles per gallon. I have NEVER got mileage that good in the three years
I've been playing with this car.
The second leg was 40% at 75 and 60% at 80 and I still got 25.25 mpg.
Both of these runs were with the top down.
I don't know what the car was originally rated at, but this mileage at
this speed is great, imho.
Plus the idle is much improved, the potential for sequential operation,
etc... there are enough improvements now that anyone using chips from
2000 would be well served to upgrade. True, you have to add temperature
compensation, but that can be done in less than a couple hours...
Just some input on the road... I'll now return you to your former
program.
BTW - good dig on the "retarded" comment, Mark.

The car revs too much when I start it for the first time each day.
Looked
for the prime setting and 21 shows 0 degrees and I've reduced row 715 to
0
and nothing has changed. Does my version have a prime setting? It is a
1.6
with knock sensor capability.
25 Mar 2000 version.
I expect it may be time to upgrade again...

Thanks. Good data! I'll be upgrading later this summer when I have time.
Gotta get a garage built before winter comes.
