Just installed my FM II. So last night while coarse tuning, I did a full
throttle run from 1st to redline (maybe a little past, I've never seen it
accelerate so quickly!), then shifted to 2nd and continued the full
throttle. At redline I shifted again, the tach went to 0 for a split second
and then went back to about 7000 and then settled to where ever it should be
for 3rd gear. Looking at the Link keypad it looks as if the Link reset
itself as it was no longer in ZONEF.

The rest of the night went on without a hitch and without a repeat.

What happened, and how do I make sure it doesn't happen again?

Thanks,
MarkC

What's the date code on your chip? There was one version of the 1.6
chip 2-3 months ago that would cause a reset if you hit the rev limiter.

I'll have to check when I get home, but it's a late May or early June chip
(6/04 is somehow stuck in my head, but I can't be certain), and yes I have a
1.6.

If that's the issue, I'll just keep away from the rev limiter for a while.
