Koni yellows install - funky noise

I just installed Koni Yellows on a 92 Smurf.
After installing, I get a clunk/pop sound after going around turns or reall=

I did notice that the spring cups are much larger than the diameter of the =

I am wary about possible damage to the internal shock components/seals using an impact wrench to tighten down the shock nuts. I doubt it is due to the springs shifting unless under full droop there is not much spring tension and they are indeed shifting in the seats. Are they very low aftermarket springs? What kind of springs are they?
I would revisit all of the fasteners that you removed/reinstalled during the shock install. It could be any number of those, but one of the more common culprits are loose shock mount nuts. Make sure you have them tightened/torqued fully - you may have x-threaded one of the shock mount studs and it could be loose. Hopefully you find it is just a loose nut or two...

I never had that problem with Konis on the big perches, although it could be
a rear mount problem, where you have to be very careful about applying torque
on those little bolts.
I suspect that either the lower shock bolt or the spindle tongue bolt is
loose, or the problem is related to the swaybar mounts or links.
