Hi all, I saw this on another list and it looks interesting. An intercooler
sprayer that evaluates temperature and usage to determine when and how much
to spray.
What's conventional wisdom on intercooler spraying? It looks like they had
good results (true, they are trying to sell them...)

I have one. Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet though. For the US$28
it takes to buy it and ship it, I thought what the hell. Looks good.

Ashton,
I'm missing something here. You mention US$28. The price shown is $66 (is
that Australian dollars?). I thought the exchange rate was close to 1 to 1
with US currency. Am I that far off?

I asked autospeed about the prices, here's their
response:
----------------------response---------------------------
Jim,
Details of what are included with the boxed version
are as follows:
"Included is the module mounted in an extruded, heavy
duty alloy box;
the
mounted thermistors attached to generous lengths of
cable; and the
multi-pin
plugs and wiring loom."
The basic version is the module only.

Brendan Taylor

It sounds like you got the base unit without the
sensors, box,... Where are you getting all the
attachments?
This sounded interesting to me , but I would want the
full package. It would be real neat if it were used
for water injection into the mainifold. A pressure
switch with a little temperature logic might work just
as well, for that.
It would be fun to play with. Would be useful in
August with these 100 deg days.

On their site they tell you where to get the rest of the stuff. I got just
the circuit board, and 2 thermosensors. All I need is some basic wire, a
windshield washer pump, spare water tank, and nozzle. The nozzles come from
a company called Spraying Systems in Wheaton, Illinois. They are the same
company that autospeed.com used in their setup. Cost on top of the unit to
get it setup, $30. Giving a total of the system at $58. Not bad for
something that I could easily switch to control water injection as well as
intercooler spray. How much it the aquamist system?
