I have a TEC2 on my car ( lagunamiata.home.att.net ) and I have been=
considering remote mounting the coils like Jeremy Schuster did on his car.

A few weeks ago, I came across a deal on a bulk lot of GM coil packs with m=
ounts etc. and I decided to purchase them.

Today, upon receiving the coils, I pulled the cover off of one of the mount=
s. It appears that the igniter is integrated into the mount itself. Underne=
ath this circuit board is an aluminum plate (heat sink?). This is in turn =
bolted to an aluminum bracket.

For use with the TEC2, I plan on removing the circuit board and jumpering t=
he appropriate traces.

My question is, would this igniter setup be adaptable to the Link? I'd be =
willing to send one of the mounts w/ coils out to Ray if there is any inter=
est in this?

Even if the integrated igniter circuit isn't usable with the Link, I'm bett=
ing that a person could use the igniter circuit that Ray detailed along wit=
h the coils and a gutted mount. Depending on how big the igniter circuit is=
, it might even fit within the mount.

Here are a few pictures of what I'm talking about. The thumbnails are terr=
ible, but the actual pictures are large and detailed (7-800k, not dial up f=
riendly):

FWIW, I have 6 extra pairs of coils with the mount/igniter and bracket. If =
anyone is interested in the coils and or mounts etc. e-mail me off list.

Regards,
Jon
