For all the tubular header fans - This is Espen's version, currently in
production at Corky's :

albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=1238141&a=9142700&f=0

Sorry, I don't have time to give better captions - uploading these to photopoint via San Antonio is a long process ...

Interesting... what's the theory on the wastegate piping? Where is the
turbo's oil drain going to be located?

<!doctype html public "-//w3c//dtd html 4.0 transitional//en">

Seeing the massive appearing tubular manifold brings up a question I have
had for some time.&nbsp; Necking down(or tapering) of the exhaust runners
just prior to the turbo would speed the exhaust velocity.&nbsp; Would this
be counterproductive in that would you lose more power thru increased back
pressure than you would gain thru increased turbo spin up.
<p>My thoughts are that you would gain more turbo boost lower down and
have a more power under the peak.
<p>I have designed paint ball guns which use CO2 as a propellant and a
taper of the jet gives quite a bit more distance and power for the same
gas used.&nbsp; We don't have to worry about back pressure in a paint ball
gun so don't know if that really would be an issue. In a paintball gun
it doesn't take much of a taper to produce a noticeable effect so maybe
there could be designed a system that has minimal drawbacks.
<p>Just musing on an otherwise slow Saturday.

Yes, but I'm having a bracket made to position the P/S pump where the AC
comppessor normaly sits. Who needs A/C at 30 psi? :-)

Heheh ;-) Unfortunately, I do..living in the Southeast US, the insane
humidity in the summer requires it, no matter how mince it might be to be
able to remove it :( let us know what you think when it's together though!

Why not just relocate the AC to the other side of the engine, ala BBR? If
it really is a question of one or the other, I'm sure that the people who
feel it is important to keep their AC wouldn't mind spending a few bucks
more for the revised bracketry.
