here's a question for the masses,

Last time at the drag track I was standing behind the exhaust pipe, =
exhaust gasses hitting my bare legs and it felt cold/cool! The car was =
idling while waiting in the lanes, just a few short minutes after a drag =
run. Seems bizarre to me. Should I be concerned with this? =20
This is probably nothing at all, but I have never noticed this before on =
*any* car I have owned...so I thought I would ask to satisfy my own =
curiosity.

My guess would be a temperature / humidity issue... the exhaust blowing on
your legs evaporating the moisture from your legs, giving the appearance of
a cooler temperature than actually existing...

Or, you motor may be one of those physics-cheating varieties you read about
in sci-fi novels...

If you just did one hard run, and an 1/8th mile at that, you probably =
never really even heated up the exhaust. Since I installed my EGT gauge =
I've noticed that a prolonged idle will reduce the EGTs to about 500F =
(sometimes lower). This is measured right after the turbo, so 12+ feet =
later I'm sure it could be quite cool.

If you can leave rubber from the apex of one corner to the braking point =
of
the next, _then_ you have enough power.

Actually, I've been experiencing the same thing. I can put my hand up to
the end of the tailpipe while my car is idling and the exhaust barely feels
warm. This is even true after an auto-x course run and was true when I was
having my overheating problems.

Also, since I added the turbo, the exhaust note seems to be louder in the
FRONT instead of the rear. I checked this issue out (exhaust note) with
Seth @ DA in NJ and all seems to be well. All of the hoses/pipes are
connected well and no leaks were detected.

I'm running the OEM muffler and cat. I figure with the above phenom, I
should be able to run a freer flowing cat & muffler. I just don't know
which muffler I should switch to and don't want to spend too much $$$.

Well one individual at the open house replaced a stock (or might have been
aftermarket muffler) and stock mid pipe with the FM-Single and picked up
over 15 HP with that change alone.

I personally love the look of the FM-Duals, and I highly recommend them.
FWIW I doubt that there is any performance increase with the duals, but they
look cool and they are every bit as effective as the FM-Single.

The turbo cars even with the FM exhaust are rather quiet.
