ROFL, you just gave me an idea.

Twin Dynos for "mano a mano" Competitive Dyno Events.

Each would last half an hour and each contestant would get a max of 3 "runs"
with tuning changes permissible between runs. Best run is the only one that
would count.

Great spectator sport with a high safety factor.

Just think! Large twin flat panels displaying current readouts, close up of
the contestants sweating faces as they manipulate parameters on their
laptops, digital victory music for the winner and a digital raspberry for the
loser.

It could outrate Jerry Springer and WWF on Prime Time.

Just think of our "Big Payoff" when the crowd breaks out in delirious
shouting and maniacal catcalls whenever a mill disintegrates in a spectacular
cloud of fulgurant vapours.

Wanna go partners?????? I cherish all the merchandising opportunities for
T-Shirts, personalized mugs, video games, underwear and sex toys etc...all
bearing the "Dynomania" logo! (not to mention the brewski concession) LOL

BB -- Sonja C. -- now contacting various TV chains for bids on exclusive
contracts prior to the mandatory IPO

Maybe you could expand it into dyno runs for other machinery (like
lawnmowers?) or for certain parts of the anatomy . . . you could come up
with an interesting name for the event. The imagination soars.

Wait a minute - what were *you* thinking? You've certainly got a one-track
gutter. By "certain parts of the anatomy", I was referring to legs and arms
working the drum, and maybe even your head (or your tongue).

Hey, Mr. Smartguy -

fulgurant (____________), a.
[ad. L. fulgurant-em, pr. pple. of fulgurare to lighten, f. fulgur
lightning: see -ant.]
Flashing like lightning.
1647 H. More Resolution Poems 175 [Though] Nature play her fiery games In
this forc’d Night, with fulgurant flames.
1840 Browning Sordello v. 43 Careful Jove’s face be duly fulgurant.
1868 — Ring & Bk. vi. 1600 That erect form, flashing brow, fulgurant eye.
Hence
'fulgurantly adv.
1873 Dowden in Contemp. Rev. July 193 This eruption [in V. Hugo’s
Châtiments], which is meant to overwhelm the gewgaw Empire goes on
fulgurantly, resoundingly, and not without scoriæ and smoke.

That's what my dictionary says, of course it is the OED... which one do you
use?

The original usage in this thread was "a mill disintegrates in a spectacular
cloud of fulgurant vapours."

Unless I see an explanation, I"m going to have to call this as an improper
usage of fulgurant...

Todd

ps - don't yell at me, Corky, it's snowing here and I can't go fast... it's
making me crazy...
