Denso Iridium Plugs?

Time for me to install a new set of plugs in my '90 with modest 8psi intercooled Aerodyne setup. Anyone have any experience with the new Denso Iridiums yet? I'm trying to decide between running stock NA spec Iridium plugs gapped .010 tight for my car vs. running 1 step colder Iridiums gapped at stock setting. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Don't waste your time or money on the Iridium plugs.
Rod L. dyno'd his 11 psi SC car on NGK extended reach
and Iridium plugs in the same heat range, IIRC, one
range cooler, and found no change with either plugs.
This was done at FM, btw.

I'm not sure the plugs are supposed to generate more power, but the set I've
had for 10k+ miles show very little sign of wear and have not had to be
re-gapped. I have them gapped at 1.1mm (stock) and have never had any
misfire.

I don't expect Denso's to add any additional power over the correct std plug, but with only 4 plugs to replace I may try them and see how they hold up. FWIW, high performance, high altitude turbocharged piston aircraft get much better plug life out of fine-wire (e.g., iridium) plugs than the standard massive electrode plugs.

My car currently has a set of the Bosch platinum 4 electrode plugs which aren't supposed to work well in turbo installations (PO installed them, I've got about 7K on them and they appear to working OK). Based on your experience, what standard style plugs, heat range and gap setting would you suggest for my lightly booted (8psi) Aerodyne setup?

Could you please tell the exact Denso Iridium PN you are running in your Miata? I want to get a set of "stock" plugs and a set of the Iridiums and then experiment with both.

My experience may vary from the norm, but I enjoyed very good results with
NGK Platinum plugs in the non-extended reach application, (BKR7EVX-11). I
ran .030 gap for a while, but the Link changes later allowed me to run stock
.040 gap w/o misfire at 15 psi, (FM II). IIRC, I was always able to run the
.040 gap on the Aerodyne system at <10 psi.

I don't disagree about your comments on aircraft applications, but feel that
the turbo Miata is not particularly hard on plugs if tuned correctly, (not
too lean).

There are arguments that running too cool a plug results in fouling and
power loss, which can certainly occur, but I've not seen measurable problems
with the '7' range plugs in the 1.8L or 1.6L. There was a great thread a
while back that spoke of plugs and how racers run the coldest plug that
won't foul, often much cooler than we could possibly run on the street due
to our varied rpm use as opposed to the constant high rpm use of racing.
