What is involved in going from a small BB turbo to a large? Swapping parts
or swapping the entire unit? Inquiring minds want to know. :)
Thanks
Kurt

Kurt, I'm pretty sure it's the entire unit- believe the A/R is =
different, and both the compressor and turbine wheels are different as =
well. You _might_ be able to go to a larger compressor trim wheel via =
rebuild, but the only rebuild options to date on the SBB I'm aware of =
involves converting the ball bearing section to a sleevve bearing as =
well.

You would have to swap the turbo. You could always put your Aerodyne =
back on ;-).
I cannot fathom why you would make less boost after making more boost =
one time vs another. If the intercooler is doing it's job. I wonder if =
you have something going on with the electronic boost control or =
something. Have you looked at the dyno plots of Chai's car on Bill's =
site? The boost holds up fine with the SBB.
What are you running for fuel values at max boost? Did you get an EGT in =
and what are you seeing for EGT? Would be curious to know how much you =
reduced the fuel. On the dyno with the wideband, I had to add gas to hit =
EGT and AF.
