Cool!

Next time you call them, can you please ask about their flywheel?:

On Brainstorm's site:

miata.org/cmt/bsp/singleitem.asp?itemno=293

On AVO's site:

Brainstorm describes the AVO flywheel as "billet steel" (implying that it is CNC-ed from a block of steel).

It's hard to believe that it would be cost-effective to CNC details like the ring gear teeth out of a block of steel and still be able to sell the flywheel at a similar price to aluminum ones with separate ring gears.

Isn't it more likely that it's forged or cast?

Thanks,

Bill

I'm using a billet chromoly flywheel that a machining shop around here does
to order - cost was ~NZ$450/US$300 ... that's for a one piece item. It's
pretty redundant with a turbo though, even the rev-matching aspect, but
maybe NA guys would like it more.

HTH,
Jeff
