For all you 1.6 & MOMO guys:

What resistor are people using successfully?

I don't have a Momo, I have a Mazdaspeed wheel...but
same difference for the airbag. I didn't use a resistor
at all on my '91. I just crimped the two airbag wires
together with a butt connector...no airbag light in the
year I've had it this way.

My aunt is 5.0". I disconnected her airbag back in 95 and just put one of
those sticky note circles over the light :-)

Well, it seems that just connecting the wires directly may work just fine...
But I seem to remember (forgive me if I'm wrong) that the light is supposed
to come on or blink or something with ignition ON, and then go out when
engine is started -- does this work properly when directly connecting the
wires?

Regardless, to answer the original question you want approximately 3 Ohms
resistance. I used the one supplied in the nice kit from Finishline as
it came with the correct plug so was a snap to use. But since my passenger
bag had also deployed (bought it already wrecked), I went to Radio Shack
and got a pack of 10 Ohm resistors for cheap money. You can simply twist
3 together in parallel to achieve 3.3 Ohms, but I put them on my meter and
picked the lowest 3 and ended up with 3.2...

Also two 10's and two 15's ohm will give you 3 ohms exactly

None in my 91's, just short the wires.

You only need a resistor in the 94's and on cars. The early models work
fine with the wires shorted.

The type of non-airbag wheel added will not make any difference. On my
'90, I just spliced the two wires together. Has worked fine for over 7 years.
