Sooo.. the 94 Merc Topaz with 109k on the clock, factory 3 speed auto and
2.2 (or 2.3, I forget) 4 cylinder. My daily driver for 3 years,
consistently gets 21 mpg +/-1 and I drive it highway/city both.

21.13 mpg - Tank before Acetone (87 pump gas)

21.74 mpg - Tank with 2 oz Acetone to 13 gallons (87 pump gas)

Then I sold the car. :)

So, Acetone does nothing to the fuel mileage, plus it stinks when you spill
it all of the floor in the car.

Wallyman

P.S. New beater, 93 Intrepid with the 3.3 V6, and a 2.7 transmission (lower
3.89 gearset) gets me 22.38/21.53 mpg first 2 tanks commuting.. not as good
as I hoped but it's WAY more room and rides nice, plus it can almost get
out of it's own way. :) Did a highway roadtrip and managed 23.5ish at 78
mph cruise. Best part is <$600 invested including buying the car. :) Oh,
and no more Ford Automatic Seatbelt Hangman games.. man I hated that
"feature"!!!

my 94 protege had that and if you ever leaned forward while shutting
the door, you could bet that thing was going run up and smack you in
the head!

A freind of mine's broke on his tracer, I think it somehow sheared the rivit
holding the buckle on? Whatever it was it needed a $3 part but since it was
a "saftey item" you had to buy the entire assembly with the rack and all.
Pretty nutty.

Wally: Congrats on the new wheels. We need pictures. :-) And I thought
topaz trannies went out every 15k?
