We went on a club drive Sunday...first time the Miata's been out of the
garage for a while due to the weather...and I noticed a 'pop' sound several
times when starting from a dead stop. Sounds like it's coming from the
back/driver's side. I don't know if it was doing it before, and if it was
hard to hear with the top down...Sunday was the first day I've driven with
the top up for a long time. I've got FM sways and Koni shocks, and they've
all been on the car for quite a while, so I doubt if they've suddenly come
loose. When it gets warm enough to get under there and look around...any
ideas?

Sounds like you need to lube up the swaybar mounts. Use marine wheel
bearing grease (usually green, and always very sticky).

Probably just a swaybar binding up under the weight shift of
acceleration and then popping loose.

Of course, it could be a dozen other things too. Really need to get in
there and look.

Yep...as soon as it gets a little warmer. I've never lubed them since they
were installed. Probably should do it anyway.
