ok, got the indigo flywheel and act clutch installed, the tranny will go
into gear when the car is off, turn it on, and it has to be forced into
gear. Why is the question. What did I do wrong?

when you do finally get it into gear, it doesn't try to lunge forward or
anything, and it will move if you release the clutch. and once you get it
in one forward gear its only semi hard to get it into the others, but
reverse takes an act of congress. and once you get it in reverse, you have
problems going to forward gears again.

any thoughts before I take it to the transmission shop on monday? i have al
day tomorrow if I have to, but I really don't want to take the transmission
out again, its a long process that I will not undergo again.
thanks in advance
Ben

Your clutch is not fully engaging. Double check the throw on the slave
cylinder rod and clutch fork. Have you tried pumping the clutch to see
if that helps? If it does, bleed the clutch system.

2 things come to mind. You might need to adjust the clutch rod under the
dash for more throw. How close to the floor is the clutch grabbing??? If
it's really low you need to try adjusting it a little.

The other choice is you put the clutch disk in backwards.

Sounds like you just need to adjust the clutch, it's not disengaging all the
way and that's why it won't go into gear. You could also have air in the
system, not sure if you took that apart. There must be some kind of clutch
adjustment you can do.

well its not the pedal engagement point, so I guess I might have put the
clutch disc in backwards, i remember looking at the disc and saying, this
can only go in one way, but I might have still stuck it in the wrong way.
I'm taking it to a shop mon. morn.
thanks for the help ron and larry
