So... it's taken some work; but, my new audio system has been all
planned out for my 93 LE.
Clarion head unit $399
<clarion.com/usa/products/source_units/DXZ755MC.html>
Boston Acoustics 6.5 inch components w/tweaters (model: SL60) $450
Max 5 headrest speakers
Clarion Sirius receiver $100
Labour $500
Installation of the speakers and rewiring the thumpers in the seats. It
took me a while to find a place that could do this since the transducers
are a long forgotten fad. Doing some sort of enclosure thing inside the
door panels to produce some bass.

I can't really afford the $2000 pricetag on this whole thing; but, you
can't put a price on a first class car audio system, so a kids gotta do
what a kids gotta do... max out his credit card.
How are the Max 5's.
They haven't arrived in the mail yet.
I got some Rockford Fosgate headrest

The Max 5's come highly recommended by Jeff Anderson.
How are you handling the miata's

I love the thump I get from the seat thumpers, and when the new system
is installed, I'll still have that thump, plus some additional thump
coming out of the door panels. Granted, there's nothing like a 12 inch
sub in the back of the car; but, some thump is better than no thump. I
think this new system will give my Miata exactly what it needs. Even as
it is now, passengers throughly enjoy the thumping from the seat
transducers.
