Just after posting the note to the list about soliciting help for the ACS
raffle at Deal's Gap I received a note from a very close Miata friend of mine
that another Miataphile in our extended family has been diagnosed with
cancer. Ironic that said friend was emailing me the same time I chose to
post to the list. I do not want to divulge the identity of this person as we
all deal with such things in our own manner and deserve privacy. I would,
however, with the individual and family's permission, like to send in this
year's proceeds in this wonderful Miataphile's name. I am in tears over the
news and even more determined to raise as much as we possibly can to help put
an end to the suffering so many in our community have had to endure. As I
previously mentioned, there are 5 survivors that I personally know in the
Miata community. Without divulging identities...some are on this list. I
hope you will keep good thoughts for our Miata brethren who has a battle
ahead of her and wish her well...and please lend whatever support you can to
help put an end to this disease. Please help us support the Miata raffle to
benefit the American Cancer Society.
