I came across with RX-8 video at Japanese Asahi Paper site.
This video is 11min45sec long and with Japanese narration.
It shows test runs at the circuit plus interview with Mazda's
chief designer Mr. Katabuchi.

Brief summary of the interview:

4 door 4 seater sports car with rotary engine.

Standard Spec with 210 hp.

High Power Spec with 250 hp.

High Power Spec has no automatic transmission
due to unavailability of transmission that handles 9,000rpm.

Standard Spec has automatic transmission as an option
by limiting rpm to 7,500.

NA only to emphasize rotary engines' linear throttle response.


I like its exhaust sound.
