Recently on Go Miata I read this

1. It's very important to always use genuine Mazda oil filters any time you
change the oil. The reason for this is that Mazda filters have an
anti-drainback valve on them that allows more oil to stay in the pump,
rather than all drain back to the pan, so at startup - when most wear
occurs - the oil circulates into the engine much more quickly.

Is this true? Are their any other brands of filter that have this feature?

Greg
