I plan on lighting the car. Taking out as much weight as I can. A long
with the the corbeau pro sport @ 14.5 LB. I also plan on installing a HD
extreme. That is going to put more weight back in but also stiffen the
car a lot. Any suggestions as to help in getting the car as light as
possible will be appreciated. Interior carpeting and all extraneous
stuff and so on.
BTW the car is a 1995 stock OBD1.

What's the purpose? track car?
Moti and the seriously stripped Blackbird.

Yep and for a long time I will be doing the daily driver route with it,
so I will have to put up with the sound and noise. In the long term I
plan on FI. It is under 100K and it is almost paid off. So I will be
putting some more cash into it to get a better power to weight ratio. I
am hoping for 170 to 210 RWHP and 1800 LB better if I can as in less weight.
BTW I know that this should go to Light weight Miata form but I wonted
to try it hear first.

The reason I asked is because it was obvious that you're going in the track
car route and if this is the case I **strongly** suggest looking into a
different rollbar and perhaps seats as well.
I highly recommend you read this thread from the forum it has a lot of info
that might help you realize what you're going to do in regards to track safety -
forum.miata.net/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=25;t=001596
As for your goals, the HP goal will be an easy to meet one but 1800... good
luck with that... you'll find that it is MUCH harder than you may think,
especially with a street car... if I were you I'd be happy with 2000 flat.

I could live with 2000 if I have to. The door windows I plan to replace
with lexan and manual window reregisters. The top I will take the rag
top off if I need too. I was told that the dry weight of the car was
2240 if this is so I will find out soon as I plan on taking the car to
the local truck stop to get the 411 on it as a base line.
