On some models of Porsches and BMW's, the dip stick has been eliminated as the oil level sensors have proven to be very accurate. Unless you park on a hill...... ;)

Well, what happens if your sensor fails?
Them engineers already have a sensor diagnostic test run every time the car is started.... So, there's a sensor to tell you that your other sensor is malfunctioning. Ah, modern electronics....

Last Sunday I drove a BMW M3 and it had a sticker on the engine with
instructions as to how to check the oil. I would have thought that
anyone that bought one would know how to do that, but I guess
not. The dipstick was right beside the sticker, and was bright
red. And nothing unique about how to check it.
