I got one magazine from my subscription (and I re-upped through MOC right
before it folded officially and never got the refund promised). I talked to
Barb about it and then started getting the magazine after I sent her a
subscription but I agree with Hank that the magazine seemed more like a club newsletter
lately and not a magazine. In fact some of my club newsletter's articles had
more interesting and technically correct info in them. I hate to see the
magazine go too but the local clubs will survive without the national club and
even without the magazine. Maybe getting back to a grassroots type of recruiting
by local members and the clubs having to be self reliant (really most were
already) and outgoing enough to contact other local clubs is a good thing.
Miata.net has the club listings and really that's all that's necessary for someone
looking for a club or for people in neighboring clubs to find contacts. I
still subbed to the magazine of late but I must admit I haven't been overly
anxious to open them up in recent years and man y are still in their plastic
wrappers. No offense to Barb as I have met her and I know she's a true enthusiast
and has done a lot for the community.

Today, Saturday, January 31, 2004 the new issue of Mazda Sport appeared in
my mailbox.

"All New Prnmier Issue" (marked "display until March 1, 2004). Pretty
thick. 80 pages
I will enjoy the magazine while you guys watch the Super Bowl.

That should answer the question most have had as to the existance of our old
subscriptions.

***Well, it's good to know that somebody got it, anyway. I still haven't
received one. And I won't be watching the Super Bowl. I will be
autocrossing my roommate/teammate's 2002 Classic Red Miata tomorrow!
WEeee!!! Here's to spins in the rain . . . lol.
