Hi all,

I had an idea, that may save a ticket and a bumper for some people. I am
also thinking of it to save a ticket for me. What I want to do is make a
Japanese style license plate, the markings in Japanese from the birth place
of our cars, but put our own license number on it. If it is a vinyl sticker
it will last, and you can put it where you want without it blocking the air
to the engine, looking bad, and screws in the bumper. Has anyone done this?
I am sure I can't be the only one to think of it. If someone has, and wants
to point me in the correct direction to find it that would be great.

Thanks
Brad

I don't like the look of front plates either (I've been running in MN
without one since I got the car - haven't been hassled yet). The only thing
I might mention is that a very strange looking plate might simply attract
/more/ unwanted attention rather than less. A bare front end looks good, a
Japanese plate sticker looks unusual ;-). It also probably isn't any more
legal than running without a plate and might even have add'l legal concerns
(forging plates, etc).

Regardless, I'd love to see pics of anything you try =).

Good luck,
