Let me tell you about my Speed Channel story! 3 weeks
ago 2 of my digital channels started acting up. Not all
of the channels, just 2 of the digital ones: ESPN2 &
Speed. I called for service, they couldn't come out for
a week...fine. The day of the service call, the TV was
fine & we cancelled the appointement. Then, this past
Friday I wanted to watch F1 practice at 7am...is my
channel there? Nope. Another call for service...the
nearest appointment is a week away. So far this week,
Speed & ESPN2 have been unwatchable & I'm pissed. And I
pay $50 a month for that??? Oh, and of course the gal
on the phone says that no one in my city has complained
of any of these problems.

I am in the home theater business and the current response from Comcast
cable in our area is... if you don't like it then get DSS!

Can you imagine that...

Sounds like Comcast with my internet service. I was offline all Friday
night, worked for 10 minutes Saturday morning, offline all Saturday, online
Saturday night for 15 minutes, offline all day Sunday and have since been
back up. But they can find nothing wrong anywhere else. Hmmmmm, went
through this with @home and they replaced the modem 6 months ago and service
was perfect until it became Comcast. Then the connection speed divided in
half and the online time dove into the cellar. But they find nothing wrong.
I keep telling them I can fix it. Switch to the competitor. Anyone here
using Knology??

John,

I had a problem witb my digital cable signal at my old
apartment with only a few channels (Speedvision
included). Turns out it was a damaged wire at my box
outside which was picking up FM radio waves and
interfearing. Apparently Speed is broadcast on a signal
that is in the same range as some FM radio waves and bad
connections can cause an issue. They replaced the cable
and no more problems.
