...and took Kate to a shop.

Kate has been parked at my uncle's house for much longer than either he or I
care to think about. My sister had recommended her mechanic, but I dragged
my feet on calling him. And when I finally did call, I couldn't get ahold
of him.

But as it turns out, my uncle's house is near an auto mall, and one of the
businesses therein is a Mazda dealership. So I called them this morning and
described my problem to them. Now that I've talked to them, I know what a
"G signal" code indicates.

Based on that code, and my description of the symptons, the tech I spoke to
told me that Kate's CAS is probably dying. They will test to verify that
and I should know for sure tomorrow. Thank God this place was close enough
to my uncle's house that I could drive there; I saved big bucks not having
to get Kate towed!

Maybe, if all goes well, I could have Kate back on the road by the end of
this week.
