Hi List !

Seems like rad fans are a _hot_ topic lately ...

Things turned ugly today with the Blackbird, both fans stopped working at
some point, I noticed it only after I got off the freeway, luckily I was
right by my apartment.

Seeing the water temp needle gets to the nasty zone AFTER 250ยบ when the car
stopped, I got a few buckets of water to cool down the situation, turned the
car off and on a few times to make sure the motor will still be able to turn
after it cools down.
I don't know if that's what I'm suppose to do or not, but it runs right now
so I guess it's not too bad.

Anyway, I don't if it's related to the parallel fan wiring mod I just
performed yesterday or not, Don't know if I've done any damage (hopefully not
something expensive), any help will be appreciated.

TIA,

Moti and the hot Blackbird.

Well, since you just touched the fan wiring, I would double check
things. Look for loose connections or melted wires, though I would
suspect a blown fuse.

Good luck,
Mark

Why not suspect the fan switch? Just curious. I'm always looking to find
new ways to trouble-shoot. See you in November, Mark and Moti!

You can easily eliminate the fan switch by turning on the A/C. This
overrides the temperature switch that turns on the fans. If they still
don't turn on you then have a power to the fans issue.

I'd start by rechecking the wiring.

Then a fuse.

Then the relay.

I've had my fans wired in parallel for years with no problems.

Oh . . .he must've forgot to tell you- there is no ac or compressor in that
car anymore, so he can't check it the traditional way.
