I just saw the April issue of Automobile Magazine.
There's a story on "The 20 Most Important Cars of the
Last 20 Years". There's a 1990 Miata as one of the 20
- not bad considering some of the other nominees were
the Ferrari F40 and BMW M3.

Don't think I'm being biased one bit when I say the Mazda Miata absolutely
deserves to be on that list, perhaps even more so then some of the other
more exotic fare.. After all, our little car single-handedly retrieved the
open sportscar from the trash heap of automotive history and placed it
squarely in the publics eye.

I have to agree, I am no super-Miata-fan-boy (Miatae are what they are,
both bad and good) - but the wide selection of drop-top sports cars
available to us today all pretty much owe their existence to the Miata -
and its sales success.

If your local PBS station carries MotorWeek they are road testing the new
Sky on the show that premieres this weekend. If you can't get it via PBS it
should be on SpeedTV next week.
