What is it with all the problems people have been having with the
vendors lately?

Recently Performance Buyers Club got a couple of unsolicited thumbs up
from list members and based on those my son ordered a "clutch pack"
from them. (they were $50 cheaper and the flywheel was lighter than
the equivalent FM) They made great promises but have not delivered.
Since they got some free good press I thought you needed to know about
the bad side as well so you wouldn't make the same mistake we did.

I don't remember what day we actually order the clutch, but they
charged our credit card on June 16th. When the first delivery date had
come and gone they kept coming up with reasons it wasn't being
delivered. Twice they told us they were overnighting it right then and
it would be here tomorrow. Last week I even got an invoice telling me
it had been drop shipped from California.

Now he began to say the factory was screwing up. Let's give him the
benefit of the doubt and say it was a factory issue. Even if that were
so, he didn't keep us informed. When he would tell us he would call the
factory and call us back with the results, he never did. We would end
up calling him the next day.

Same story yesterday. He was going to get the tracking number and call
us back - he didn't. When I called this morning he was going to call
the factory in "55 minutes". 2 hours later I called him back and it was
"the next thing on my list". I got him to call while I was on the
phone only to find that it was being shipped today by GROUND and
wouldn't be here until next week! I told him to cancel the order. Now
let's see how much trouble it is to get our $$$ back.

There go the only 2 weekends we had to work on the car for the next 45
days! We ordered in ample time and if he had followed up with us or the
factory in a timely fashion we would have had the order from him or had
time to order another unit.
