1993 Mazda MX-5 "LRB (little Red Bomb)"
Hello.
I am the third owner of a 1993 Miata, already named the LRB for "little red bomb". I bought it last month for $2k, and after I sold my 1984 Honda Shadow motorcycle, made the effective price $1100. Not bad for a no rust Alabama car with 133K on the odometer. Since I got it, I've done pads and rotors all around, and replaced the clutch cylinders. I've also replaced the headrest speakers (2 were blown). It's a project car and hopefully a daily driver until the snow and ice arrive in Ohio.

Upcoming projects:
repaint right front fender
replace top
diagnose ABS (light is on all the time)
install long tube header given to me for a birthday present
roll bar, maybe?

It's a fun little car to go bombing around in (hence the name), and I love the economy and engineering of this car. It's VERY easy to work on as long as you have small hands and tend to be left handed. I have neither, so I have to be creative when working on it.

I'm also on miata.net, so between these 2 sites, I'll know all there is to know about these fun little cars.

Hi Luke, they are a great little car, I have a 1989 Mazda Eunos 1.6 and it is excellent. You mention that the ABS light is on all the time. I think you'll find there is no ABS on the early models and the light you are seeing is either the handbrake warning light or the brake fluid low level light.

Enjoy your new acquisition.

Les

Thanks for the greeting.

This car DOES have ABS on it. There's an ABS brake motor on the passenger side, and sensors and toothed wheels on the wheel hubs. If I pull up on the handbrake, the red BRAKE light goes on.

This is the ANTI LOCK light just to the left. Here's photographic evidence.

Just acquired a negelted 98 Miata. I can’t fig out how to add air to the tires. It has some small caps on the rim. I removed them and there is a valve. How do I inflate the tire. The car was left in a garage by my girlfriend decessed Husban. After sitting 3 years fires right up and idles perfect. It is a soft top white 5 speed. I know nothing about it.

I bought a 2000 mica green miata a few years ago with 40,000 miles and in perfect shape, no scratches, dents, no rust, beautiful konig rims with 245/45/17 rubber. After adding 10,000 miles i have changed gearbox oil, engine oil 3 changes with amsoil, and put on new pads and rotors. I hand wash my little baby with Honda pro glare wash. Since buying it, nothing has gone wrong, and i am amazed at just what a remarkable car this is. It has the 5 speed tranny with the non posi traction rear. Shifts are smooth as butter.

Hello from Las Vegas, NV
We are Eugene and JoAnn Espinosa. We have a 2000 Miata with 57K original miles and use it to go to the club house / golf course in our retirement community. I used to restore automobiles as a way to put myself through graduate school and would do it again. I am an old guy who parks his car in between high end dollar machines and they are envious. I have added Advanti light weight Storm 2 wheels with Continental Extreme Contact Sport Tires. (excellent product for the money-rides and handles extremely well), Cobalt Air Intake with K&N Filter, Cobalt Style Bar, Tube Header off a 10,000 mile donor car, 2 1/2 exhaust with Magna Flow Muffler and a Blue/Chrome Wicked Tip.
I have been considering a chip but not sure about benefit. (would appreciate testimonials). I am also considering Kenwood touch screen digital player for the inside. I am keeping my eye out for a hardtop because I will eventually give the car to my daughter in Colorado.
Hope you like the pictures.

2011 Mazda MX-5 "My Baby" ~ For Sale ! ~
Hi Eugene and JoAnn Espinosa,
I have a Las Vegas car that I bought 2 years ago, Mica Red (whatever-they-call-it), 2011 MX-5 retract hard top, stock-stock in all respects. I am not able to do it justice any more and I have to get rid of it. It is in EXCELLENT shape with no dings or dents, with all the bells & whistles, and runs like a rabbit (the animal not the VW car). I am the 2nd owner. I would like to see you take it back to it's home in Las Vegas.
Please get back to me at 916-534-7357.
It's good to meet you.

I aquired this 1998 X5 5speed. I know nothing about them. New girlfriend had it buried in her garage. Husband died 3 years ago. Car been sitting 8 years. I got it started and drove it a few blocks. Everything including the AC is working. 68k on your clock. Like new inside and out. Small ding on head light cover. Son dropped a ladder on it . White with black top and interior. Spotless. Can't wait to get it back on the road.

I have used the Parts Group Motors, Inc out of Florida. They have a good selection of used parts and Tom is very knowledgeable and helpful.

My name is Glen Nelson. I live in Knoxville, Tn - foothills of the Smoky Mountains - which gives me the option of utilizing my MX-5 - no Miata on it anywhere. 2012. The connotations that only gay guys drive Miatas got to upper management at Mazda. For two years (I believe) they did not put the word Miata on them anywhere. Mine is that way. I also had a 2000 LS - the 2012 is a Sport. The 2000, I modified a lot but not internals or supercharge/turbocharge. I found pictures of my 2000 and will have to update with my 2012.
