Engine from 2014 MX5 GT 23,000 Mi Swaped out for 2.5. $1700. Engine at Indy Miata, AIM tuning.

Question... how much does a 2.5 swap cost and what all has to be changed?

The swap costs 5-6K depending on options, extras. HD Clutch, headers, exhaust system. I am very happy with swap. Still want to sell old engine.

Two questions: Is your 2014 a bolt in replacement into a 2000 auto miata? and I am not familiar with the 2.5 engine you replaced your 2014 engine with. Is your 2.5 engine a bored and or stroked 2.0 or something completely different.

The price of swap can vary because of price for engine new/used and on condition/miles on used part. I chose to get a 1000mi engine form a front wheel drive car. The balance shaft was removed and accessories were transferred to new engine. I added HD clutch, headers SS exhaust with Helmholtz chamber,roadster sport muffler, ECU tune. Engine is basically a 2 liter with a longer stroke. It is 1/2 inch taller. The plastic engine cover won't fit under strut brace. Around 5,000+/-.
